The organizers of the upcoming IIHF Women's World Championship, taking place in Utica, N.Y. from April 3-14, 2024, have revealed the exciting schedule and activities that await visitors at the Subaru World Championship Village. Designed to be inclusive and accessible to all, the village will serve as the vibrant epicenter of the 12-day women's ice hockey tournament and festival. Operating daily from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET, the village will feature engaging live music performances starting at 4 p.m. each day of the tournament.
In the words of Rob Esche, the president of Mohawk Valley Garden, "The Subaru World Championship Village draws inspiration from Olympic villages across the world." Esche further explained that the Adirondack Bank Center complex will be transformed into a festive atmosphere throughout the entire event, allowing Utica to celebrate the World Championship in a unique and memorable way. With a diverse lineup of music and entertainment from various parts of the country, the village aims to bring the community together for an extraordinary experience.
Situated at the convenient intersection of Whitesboro Street and Auditorium Drive, right next to the Adirondack Bank Center, the Subaru World Championship Village will provide visitors with an array of thrilling and captivating activities. Indoors, guests can immerse themselves in interactive virtual reality games, enjoy lawn games, relax in a biergarten, and much more. Large-screen televisions will showcase tournament highlights and pre-game shows, while local and regional restaurants will offer delectable food and beverages. Live music performances from bands hailing from Nashville to New York will add to the vibrant atmosphere.
The excitement of the Subaru World Championship Village extends outdoors as well. Here, visitors can experience a carnival-like ambiance, complete with an interactive hockey "fun zone," a diverse selection of vendors, and additional live entertainment. The highlight of the outdoor activities is a Ferris Wheel that provides passengers with breathtaking views of Utica's skyline as it soars high above the city.
